Metallica Books Fall Tour Through Latin America

Metallica is preparing for a busy schedule to show off tunes from the band’s first album in eight years. The first batch of dates is made up of gigs in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica.  

Hardwired … to Self-Destruct is due out Nov. 18, marking Metallica’s 10th studio album.  

An announcement on the band’s website titled “New Album, New Tour” says the Latin America excursion represents “the first of many headlining shows around the world.”

But first the band has a few previously announced appearances lined up in the U.S. – Sept. 24 at Global Citizen Festival in New York and Oct. 22-23 at Bridge School Benefit Concert in Mountain View, Calif.

The Latin American excursion launches Oct. 26 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“We can’t think of a better place to get the juices flowing and set the table for many more shows to come!” the band said. “We are beyond excited to get out there, visit all of you and test out some of the new songs live.”

Metallica promised that “many more announcements” will be revealed in next few weeks.

Oct. 26 – San Juan, Puerto Rico, Coliseo de Puerto Rico      
Oct. 29 – Quito, Ecuador, Parque Bicentenário
Nov. 1 – Bogota, Colombia, Hipodromo De Los Andes      
Nov. 3 – Guatemala City, Guatemala, Estadio Cementos Progreso
Nov. 5 – San Jose, Costa Rica, Estadio Nacional
