Lecrae Locks In Regional Tour

Atlanta’s favorite anomaly is back on the road once more! Rapper Lecrae is showcasing his new stuff on a run through the Southern and Midwestern U.S. and continental Northeast.

“The Destination Tour, You’re Accepted” opens Oct. 25 in Columbia, S.C. at the  and lasts 3 weeks, ending in Asheville, N.C.’s  Nov. 16.

Before the new tour Lecrae has two festival appearances lined up today, Sept. 13, at  in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Sept. 23 at  in Duluth, Ga.

Lecrae’s 2014 album, Anomaly, catapulted him into the international spotlight, but he has been releasing albums for a decade. The artist released the mixtape Church Clothes 3 earlier this year and has said he is ready showcase some new tunes in the upcoming gigs.

“I’m excited to play new music for the first time,” he said in a press release. “I’ve worked with some of the most incredible artists over the summer, and I want to put some of that music on display.”

A Christian, Lecrae’s spirituality features prominently in his work, as he often quotes biblical verses and teachings on tracks. In his attempts to walk worthy he also raps about social issues and has engaged in activism promoting fatherhood and positive role modeling. He also wrote about racial issues in the U.S. during the unrest in Ferguson and after the shooting at Charleston church.

“There is a great antagonist, and it does not have black or white skin,” he wrote. “It is the brokenness of humanity. May a love that miraculously mends our brokenness be the protagonist.”

In addition to a couple Grammy awards he has also received an honory Doctorate of Music from Canada Christian College, so you can call him Dr.
