Emeli Sandé Returns To The Stage

Emeli Sandé has unveiled the routing for a European excursion that’s being called a “comeback tour.” The announcement follows last week’s news that the soulful singer/songwriter is set to finally release her sophomore album.

Long Live the Angels is due out Nov. 11 as the follow-up to 2012’s Our Version of Events. Her debut LP, which includes the hit “Next To Me,” earned Sandé global acclaim and awards on both sides of the pond. Her trophy collection includes a BET Award for best international artist U.K. and Brit Awards for critic’s choice, British female solo artist and British album of the year.

If “Hurts,” the first single from Long Live the Angels, is any indication, her sophomore effort is going to be worth the wait.

A write-up from Rolling Stone declares, “‘Hurts’ takes an everything-but-the-kitchen sink, James Bond theme song approach to eliciting emotion, utilizing sweeping strings, a towering brass section and a choir.”

“Hurts” is available now on Spotify and iTunes.

“This entire album is about me not holding back and not censoring myself, and ‘Hurts’ is an explosion, it’s just…real talk,” Sandé said in a statement.

Here is the routing for her first tour of 2016, which includes her first dates in the U.K. since 2013. The fun begins with two shows in Sandé’s native Scotland.

Oct. 2 – Glasgow, Scotland, Oran Mor
Oct. 3 – Aberdeen, Scotland, Tunnels
Oct. 5 – Manchester, England, Gorilla
Oct. 6 – London, England, St John at Hackney
Oct. 12 – Amsterdam, Netherlands, Tommy Hilfiger’s Peoples Place
Oct. 13 – Paris, France, Flow
Oct. 17 – Berlin, Germany, Lido
Oct. 20 – Stockholm, Sweden, Nalen
Oct. 21 – Basel, Switzerland, Event Halle Basel (Baloise Session)
