Axed: Bring Me The Horizon, Toby Keith, Amy Schumer
Bring Me The Horizon canceled its shows in Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand, this week, as frontman Oliver Sykes needed time to recover from a viral throat infection.
The metal singer issued a formal apology and notice of cancellation Sept. 20 to the fans through his Instagram, the same day on which he was scheduled to perform in Adelaide. In that message, he said his last performance in Sydney was a real struggle, but despite taking 24 hours to recover, his symptoms worsened.
Word was later given that Melbourne would need to be called off as well, although the group will reportedly be returning Down Under in 2017.
Bring Me The Horizon’s next scheduled date is now at The O2 Arena in London Oct. 31.

“This is a major show for the region which attracts fans within a one- to two-hour drive and beyond,” Florence Civic Center General Manager Kendall Wall said on Keith’s website. “We understand the growing concerns for Toby’s fans and our own fans, as we’ve been receiving distress messages over the past couple days.
“It would be unfair for these fans and unrealistic for them to travel given the current dismal situation with gas prices and availability.”
The gas situation in the Carolinas has been described as a crisis after a pipeline spill in Alabama earlier this month. S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley has issued an executive order to help more gas enter the state, but prices continue to climb.
The city of Charlotte in the neighboring state of North Carolina is currently in a state of emergency due to violent protests and rioting in response to the shooting of an African American male, Keith Lamont Scott, by police this week. No connection between the incident and rescheduling has been announced.
Toby Keith is now set to appear in South Carolina in March 9 2017. TobyKeith.com is the place for all things Toby Keith.
Three of the dates are Oct. 12-14 in Birmingham, Ala.; Savannah, Ga., and Memphis, Tenn., and the fourth is in San Antonio Nov. 17.
Schumer has cited scheduling conflicts as the main reason for the cancellations. Refunds are reportedly available at point of purchase.
Amy is a busy lady these days. She released a book, titled “The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo” earlier this summer, and has been touring to promote that. She was also the star of last year’s film “Trainwreck,” which she wrote, and is the force behind “Inside Amy Schumer” a comedy central show entering its fifth season. She announced on Twitter last month that she would be taking a break from the show, though.
