Adam Ant Celebrates ‘Kings Of The Wild Frontier’

In addition to releasing a remastered boxset version of Kings Of The Wild FrontierAdam Ant is celebrating the 35th anniversary of his sophomore album by performing in its entirety, in sequence, in early 2017.

Kings Of The Wild Frontier hit No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart and also placed on the Top 200 albums chart in the U.S.

The tour will be the first time the tune “Feed Me To The Lions” has ever been performed live.  Along with the title track, the 1980 LP includes the singles “Antmusic” and “Dog Eat Dog.” The U.S. version substituted the track “Making History” for “(You’re So) Physical” and “Press Darlings.”

The album left a mark on the pop scene by showcasing the Burundi Beat style of Central African drumming, which Adam features live by having two drummers on stage.

A review from All Music calls Kings Of The Wild Frontier “one of the great defining albums of its time. There’s simply nothing else like it, nothing else that has the same bravado, the same swagger, the same gleeful self-aggrandizement and sense of camp.”

The deluxe boxset, which is available now, includes items from Adam’s extensive personal achieve and a DVD of the out-of-print “Ants In Japan” concert video. Adam remastered the album and personally designed the boxset.
