Joshua Fischel, 47, organizer of the Music Tastes Good Festival, which just wrapped Sept. 25 Long Beach, Calif., died from a longtime illness Sept. 29.

Fischel, who was also a touring musician and frontman of Joshua Fischel & The Fiction, was reportedly taken off life support, yet he was greeting attendees the past weekend in a golf cart and was said to be in good spirits.

He is considered the creator of the festival while Jon Halperin was and is the talent buyer. This year’s fest featured acts like The Specials, Vintage Trouble and Music Tastes Good Festival. Local businessman, friend and fellow organizer Mike Wylie told the Press-Telegram he gave Fischel a hug and kiss on the final day of the festival.

“I just knew it was going to be the last time I was going to see him,” Wylie said.
