Largo Goes Central

The city-owned venue formerly known as the  in Largo, Fla., has been renamed Central Park Performing Arts Center.

City officials approved the new moniker after the idea was brought forth by a nonprofit organization, Suncoast Performing Arts Foundation, which fundraises for the building, The Largo Leader reported.

The venue, which can host shows for up to 650 in its theater, is in the middle of the city’s Central Park, and proponents of the name change say it will help with fundraising.
