Music Midtown Donates To Park Upgrades

Live Nation, which produces Music Midtown in Atlanta, donated $100,000 to support capital improvement projects at the city’s Piedmont Park.

City officials announced Sept. 30 the funding comes from the proceeds from this year’s Music Midtown, which took place Sept. 17-18. The donation is in addition to LN’s annual $400,000 donation to Mayor Kasim Reed’s Centers of Hope program and covers all needed repairs to Piedmont Park after the event, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

“Since its establishment in 1994, Music Midtown has been a steadfast supporter and partner to the City of Atlanta,” Department of Parks and Recreation Commissioner Amy Phuong said in a statement. “We thank Music Midtown for the additional boost in funding dedicated to improvements and maintenance at Piedmont Park which serves an estimated four million residents and visitors every year.”

Music Midtown annually generates more than $50 million in economic impact and development for Atlanta, which has hosted Music Midtown since 2011, the Chronicle said.
