HoB Anaheim Opens In March

The first House of Blues to be built in the U.S. in a decade is expected to open in Anaheim, Calif., in March.

The 44,000-square-foot venue is twice as large as its predecessor with the main concert hall accommodating 2,200 patrons. The former HoB venue was located in Downtown Disney; the new digs are one block east of Disneyland in the Anaheim GardenWalk.

HoB is touting this as a “4-D” experience because the venue will have four rooms for live music, the second-largest being The Parish with a 400 capacity, designed for singer/songwriters, local artists and intimate showcases, and can be adjusted for lounge seating or standing room.

The Foundation Room and the House of Blues Restaurant and Bar are also apparently wired for sound.

“No venue has ever combined all of this under one roof,” HoB CEO Ron Bension said. “Some nights will have four bands playing in four separate performance spaces at the same time. It will truly be a 4-D live music entertainment experience.”

HoB stressed all rooms will have state-of-the-art sound and lighting. The first performance is expected to be announced soon with tickets on sale mid-November.
