Scanners At Commerzbank Arena Pass Test
With new scanning technology, the multi-purpose Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany, is now able to accommodate any ticketing partner and all ticket types.
The new technology is provided by simply-X. The test phase started in April and continued throughout Commerzbank Arena’s summer program, when some 500,000 people visited about 20 events and concerts.
The scanning system was fully implemented in time for the start of the German Bundesliga – the soccer premier league – in August. The stadium’s maximum capacity of 51,000 visitors can now be channeled through 63 gates equipped with the new scanners.
More scanners have been placed in the parking garage and at the entrance to the stadium’s VIP area, bringing the total number of fixed terminals to 77.
Additional hand scanners are available as well. Simply-X can either connect any ticketing operator through its API, or upload their data to its scanners, which also read all current ticket types.
