The two held the meeting as Trump is in the midst of selecting his top staffers for his administration, but all indications pointed toward Emanuel wanting only to discuss some of Trump’s initial decisions after his inauguration.

Emanuel is credited with the deal that turned Trump into the star of “The Apprentice” but he is also a staunch Democrat, having supported Hillary Clinton and whose brothers Rahm and Ezekiel were members of President Barack Obama’s inner circle and highly influential with the creation of Obamacare.

Rahm is currently the embattled mayor of Chicago.

Ari also represents Broadway play “Hamilton,” which recently was the site of controversial rhetoric when a cast member directed comments toward audience member Mike Pence, the incoming vice president.

At the same time, Ari also reportedly considered assisting in making a film about the GOP convention in Cleveland. Ultimately, not much was to be read into the meeting, apparently. Emanuel is said to not be interested in a cabinet position and wanted to reach out to one of his old clients.
