Tourmate Tension Gets Jeremih Dropped

After numerous incidents during performances, R&B singer Jeremih was kicked off the “Summer’s Over” tour with Partynextdoor Dec. 4.

The trouble had likely been brewing for some time, but boiled over at a show in Jeremih’s native Chicago at  Nov. 29. It was there that fan videos showed the artist, after two songs, saying, “Oh they some haters man, [expletive] ya’ll,” throwing the microphone on the stage floor and walking off.

He later tweeted that those comments were intended for production staff whom he says muted his earpiece. The next show was at  in Houston, where Jeremih supposedly took the stage in a hoodie and cap and did a full set.

Numerous fans didn’t feel satisfied with the performance, though, and accused the artist of putting an imposter onstage. The last show he played at  in Dallas was where the problems were in plain sight. Onstage, before performing his hit “Oui,” the singer criticized tourmate Partynextdoor for lip-syncing and dissed the artist and his crew.

Jeremih later claimed the stage was being pepper sprayed to sabotage his performance. It was after this series of events that the cancellation announcement came.

“Live Nation’s top priority is helping artists and performers create great shows for their fans. With this in mind, we’ve decided it’s best for the Summer’s Over Tour to continue without Jeremih, effective immediately,” a Live Nation representative told Pollstar. “After multiple incidents we are left with no other choice. We do not support these actions or take these actions lightly. Ticketholders may request a full refund at point of purchase, which will forfeit access to the entire show. No partial refunds will be issued.”

There were only three shows left on the “Summer’s Over” routing after Jeremih reportedly missed the Dec. 2 San Antonio show at the . The last stop is San Francisco’s  Dec. 11.
