New German Electronic Festival

Springinsfeld will launch Aug. 19 as a one-day event at the Fühlinger See in Cologne, which is the same site that already hosts major reggae festival Summerjam.

He intends to get 20 acts in total and expects about 20,000 festivalgoers at the premiere. If everything goes well, Rauschenberger plans to turn Springinsfeld into a two-day event in 2018.

The Fühlinger See site is made up of the actual festival island, surrounded by a lake, which in turn is surrounded by forest. By the sound of the vague announcement on the festival’s homepage, promoters intend to make use of the natural surroundings to create an escape for today’s smartphone culture.
