Fans Vent Over 14-Month Postponement

Beach Town Music Festival’s inaugural, two-day shindig featuring Jake Owen was blown deep into 2017 by Hurricane Matthew and some fans are claiming the company is not refunding their tickets.

The event was originally scheduled to take place in Vero Beach, Fla., Oct. 7-8, but was called off for safety concerns, just like many other Florida events at the time. While most other events offered full refunds or makeup shows within a few months, Beach Town is rescheduled for Dec. 8-9, more than a year after the original date.

Fans are now expressing frustration with the unavailability of refunds, the Sebastian Daily reported. At press time there were 15 negative reviews posted to the event’s Facebook page and two favorable. 

“No refund to date. Waiting since cancellation of show. Thinking Jake Owen fan page needs to be made aware of what his fans are dealing with,” Kristina Pascaretti-Stabile wrote.

A number of fans claim they have reported or threaten to report the festival to various watchdog organizations.

Basis Entertainment, the company apparently producing the festival, could not be reached for comment at press time.

Beach Town’s inaugural lineup was originally set to feature Bret Michaels, but he is not confirmed for the rescheduled event.
