Metropolis Music Joins Live Nation

Established UK promoter Metropolis Music will be reconfigured as part of Live Nation, with the core Metropolis team staying on board and founder Bob Angus becoming chairman.

Raye Cosbert, who has been heading the management arm of Metropolis Music, is the managing director in the new setup. In charge of artist bookings are Andy Robbins, Kiarn Eslami and Tony Dobson. Sophie Pitchforth now carries the title of executive booking coordinator, and Ronnie Lee will serve as production coordinator.

“The team and I are excited for this new venture into Metropolis Music. We’ve been promoting events in the UK since 1985, and we look forward to providing the best for artists and fans across the UK, together as part of the Live Nation family,” Angus said.

Denis Desmond, chairman of Live Nation UK, added: “The formation of Metropolis Music is a great venture for us, and another step in our commitment to promotions and world-class events in the UK. We’re bringing Metropolis on-board and bolstering their existing promotions expertise with Live Nation’s established frameworks, relationships, and a team of experts to grow the business together.”

When requesting clarification on who will be in charge of Metropolis Management going forward, Pollstar was only told that “Metropolis Management will stay as it is,” and that it is “not under Live Nation.” Metropolis is a stakeholder in the UK’s V Festival and Academy Music Group, which operates a host of UK venues.
