SMG Europe Appoints New GMs For UK Venues

Jen Mitchell and Alisa Oliver will manage Leeds’ First Direct Arena and Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, respectively, for SMG Europe.

Mitchell previously headed up London arts and entertainment complex Kings Place for eight years. She will replace outgoing Ben Williams starting in May.

Oliver has been with SMG since 1995.

She returns to her native Metro Radio Arena after having served as deputy general manager of Leeds’ first direct arena for four years.

She replaces Paul Tappenden, who retired last year, with immediate effect.

SMG Europe executive vice president John Sharkey said both appointments come at a time when SMG “continues to grow its stronghold in the north of the country.”
