OKC’s Tower Reopens

The historic Tower Theatre on Oklahoma City’s NW 23rd street reopened Feb. 18 after $6.5 million in renovations.

Developers the Pivot Group purchased the 1,042-cap venue several years ago and funded the transformation of the venue, which originally opened in 1937.

The theatre is being booked and operated by local company Levelland Productions, which plans to bring a variety of acts with the schedule expected to start filling out in April.

Getting past historical building code requirements took time, Levelland Productions’ Scott Marsh told Pollstar, but he felt that the building fills a void in the city.

“It’s something Oklahoma City has been missing for quite some time, a room of this size and something with this much history in it,” Marsh said.

Stylistic elements in the floor and ceiling complement the historic nature of the building.

The sign adorning the building cost around $85,000 KFOR-TV reported.

The new Tower’s opener featured an OKC hometown hero, rapper Jabee.
