Echo Klassik Moves To Hamburg Hall

Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall, which opened in January, will host the German Echo Klassik awards honoring classical music Oct. 29.

It marks the third time the Echo Klassik will be awarded in Hamburg.

In 1995, the ceremony took place in Hamburg’s city hall, and in 1998 it went down in the Laeiszhalle, which operates today under the same auspices as the newly built Elbphilharmonie.

Over the past six years – with the exception of 2014 when the event moved to Munich – Berlin’s Konzerthaus (Concert Hall) hosted the show. German TV legend Thomas Gottschalk will moderate the 24th edition of Echo Klassik.
