UTA Unites For Immigration Rights

UTA got a little serious for Oscar season, with the Beverly Hills-based talent agency electing to forgo its usual Friday night party for an immigration rights rally in front of its Beverly Hills headquarters Feb. 24.

The “United Voices” rally was still a star-studded affair, with the likes of Jodie Foster and Michael J. Fox joining musicians including Ben Harper and UTA largely in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s policy intentions regarding immigration and travel.

“The rights of the press and artists and the right to seek a better life is what this country is about,” UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer told the crowd estimated at 1,500 people according to Deadline.

Ben Harper closed the event with a performance. UTA previously announced it was donating $250,000 to the ACLU and the International Rescue Committee and has set up a crowdfunding page to solicit more donations. It has raised more than $320,000.
