Taj Mahal And Keb’ Mo’ Join Forces

Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ are each blues heroes on their own, but when their powers combine, they form the supergroup TajMo’. The duo is releasing a collaborative album and has announced a joint tour spanning most of 2017.

The guitar giants will be sharing the stage with a full band to play covers and original tunes in what is being billed as “a once-in-a-lifetime night of music.” The first chance to see the show is in Fort Collins, Colo., at the Lincoln Center on May 30. The last headline date on our books is currently in Nashville, Tenn.’s historic Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 7. Along the way there will be stops at the Playboy Jazz Festival in Los Angeles on June 10 and at Austin City Limits Live At The Moody Theater on Sept. 22.

The guys are spending a good amount of time in each region, and many states get two shows, so if one night sells out, chances are there is another market not too far away.

After the headline dates the guys are also playing the Austin City Limits Live At The Moody Theater, which departs out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Oct. 21.

The joint album is titled Tajmo. It’s due out May 5 through Concord Records and features appearances from Bonnie Raitt, Joe Walsh, Sheila E. and Lizz Wright. We’ve got a single from that project below:
