Depeche Mode Takes ‘Global Spirit’ To Latin America

Mexico and South America better get ready because Depeche Mode is bringing its synths to six cities in support of its Spirit album.

The band is billing this as its first trip to the region since 2009, when it was promoting Sounds of the Universe.
“We’re incredibly excited to return to Latin America,” singer Dave Gahan said. “We weren’t able to see our fans there on the last tour, so we knew we had to visit this time.”

Depeche Mode is continuing its partnership with Swedish watchmaker Hublot on the new dates to donate to the nonprofit organization charity: water. Martin Gore told the audience during a press conference that the band and fans were able to raise over $1.4 million during the last tour, which funded clean drinking water for people in Kenya, Cambodia, Ethiopia and Rwanda. “If you don’t know charity water, you should,” he said. “There are still a lot of people in the world without clean drinking water.”
