The English tenor’s latest release, True Stories, includes appearances by members of Radiohead/Portishead, Oasis, and Blondie, and  is his 6th No. 1 classical album in the U.K. He will no doubt be performing some of the new stuff, though fans can likely expect him to showcase what his reps describe as “his classical crossover style and diverse repertoire.”
Watson’s North American routing starts in Toronto on June 4, and moves to New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Prior to that, the classical legend is performing in the U.K. in May.
“I feel that I’ve been blessed with a second chance at life,” Watson said. “I’ve toured extensively, but America holds a special place in my heart. Music is my passion and I’m thrilled to be performing at these amazing venues in some of the greatest cities on earth.”
The second chance Watson is referencing probably has something to do with the fact that he has survived two major surgeries related to brain tumors, followed by rehabilitation and radiotherapy. He is affiliated with many charities in the U.K., such as The Prince’s Trust and Fellowship Trust.
Here are the details of his NA tour:
June 4 – Toronto, Ontario, Queen Elizabeth Theatre
June 7 – New York, N.Y., Town Hall
June 10 – Chicago, Ill., Oriental Theatre
June 14 – Los Angeles, Calif., The Theatre At Ace Hotel
