Quicken Loans Arena Gets Accessibility Certification

Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland has developed a plan to help those sensitive to noise, lights or overall chaotic atmosphere of some of the arena’s live events.

The home of the Cavs is now certified by KultureCity, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting accessibility and inclusion for all individuals.
The certification process included sensory awareness training for employees and the implementation of services like a “quiet space” to provide a respite for overstimulated guests, “sensory bags” containing fidget toys and noise cancelling headphones, and an exit/re-entry system for those with Sensory Processing Disorders.
People with autism, dementia and post-traumatic stress disorder are among those who may be strained in the sensory barrage that is a concert or NBA game.
