Steve White Dies
Steve White, 61, veteran production manager who ran Avalon Attractions’ San Diego operations in the 1980s, was found dead in his home in Selma, Calif., April 30.
Cause and time of death were not known at press time but the coroner ruled out foul play, sources told Pollstar.
White began his career in 1976 as a stagehand for Papa Productions in Fresno before becoming a stage manager. He joined Rockin’ Chair Productions as a stage manager before becoming the production manager for Avalon Attractions, producing its Central California rock concerts before transferring to San Diego in 1981.
He eventually joined Screenworks where he worked until his retirement a few months before his death. White was featured in the Los Angeles Times in an article called “Staging A Concert Means A Thousand Details And More” in 1987.
