Tig Notaro Takes On North American Dates
Tig Notaro is bringing her comedic stylings around her home continent, with solo shows and festival appearances booked until July.
“I’ve found you can’t really tell if a joke is going to work unless you do it on stage.”
The next place you can catch Tig is at Las Vegas’ Fremont Country Club on May 20. After that she does two festivals, Boston Calling May 28 and Boston Calling in San Francisco June 3. You’ll then find her headlining shows in the regional South and Midwest, wrapping up in Madison, Wis., July 15.
Tig was back in the spotlight recently when a sketch on “Saturday Night Live” about a lonely person calling a clown closely resembled her short film “Clown Service.” She said in a statement “It has been impossible for me to ignore the cacophony of voices reaching out personally and publicly about the potential plagiarizing of my film Clown Service. … I hesitated to even address any of this, but I think it is only right to defend my work and ideas and moving forward, I plan to continue screening Clown Service with the joy and pride I always have.”
She has done a Netflix movie and a semi-autobiographical TV pilot for Amazon Video in the past few years, but she is hitting the road once again to show she still has her standup chops.
