Atmosphere Floats Around California

Hip hop duo Atmosphere is doing a regional tour in California to promote its latest album. The trek will feature Zuluzuluu, Greg Grease, and DJ Just Nine as support.

The “Welcome to California” excursion is the seventh time Slug and Ant have taken the time to travel a state and give it a series of shows. Atmosphere started the habit with the “Welcome to MN” tour in 2011.

The tour starts Aug. 7 at The Fillmore in San Francisco and will run until Aug. 20 in San Diego. Other cities on the routing include Berkeley, Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz and San Luis Obispo, among other places.

Atmosphere also has festival appearances lined up at Soundset in Saint Paul, Minn., May 28 and at Henry Maier Festival Park for Summerfest in Milwaukee July 7.

The group’s latest album, 2016’s Fishing Blues, has been hailed by AV Club as “undeniable rap therapy.”

Tickets to the shows go on sale May 19 at 10 a.m. PDT.
