Elton John’s tour plane wasn’t able to secure a landing permission due to the arrival of world politicians on the same day. “We are extremely grateful to the Mayor’s office in Hamburg for their assistance in attempting to secure access to the restricted airspace.

Unfortunately, the decision to reschedule had to be made in advance, and their assistance was too late to reinstate the show on the original date,” a statement on the iconic musician’s website reads.

Elton John said: “I’m deeply sorry that I now won’t be able to perform on the 8 July, and apologize to all my fans for any inconvenience. I look forward to returning to Hamburg on the 5 December.” Tickets remain valid for those who can make the alternative date.
