The Irving Music Factory in Texas is scheduled to open Labor Day weekend. The project is undergoing a third shift of construction.

“We have to be ready and we’re not taking chances. We want to drive it forward as quickly as possible.” Noah Lazes, president of The Ark Group, told the Dallas Business Journal.

The third shift will focus on finishing out the 8,000-seat, Live Nation-anchored venue and 250,000-square-feet of surrounding retail, restaurant and entertainment space. The 17-acre development will house 25 retail and entertainment concepts.

“The finish out guys can’t finish painting the sheetrock until it goes up and the seat guys can’t put in the seats until the floor is ready for it,’ Lazes told the paper. “They got the short end of the deal.”

Construction was hindered by heavy rainstorms earlier this year.

The Irving Music Factory already has 45 shows booked for the remainder of the year, including performances by Kiss, Brad Paisley and The Flaming Lips.

The 25 restaurant and entertainment concepts will also open through the end of 2017. The Ark Group is planning a grand opening ceremony for the venue in December.
