Kid Rock Issues Statement On Senate Platform

Kid Rock’s candidacy for U.S. Senate is apparently continuing to shape up. The rocker released a statement on his social media accounts today, summing up his thoughts on tax codes and health care in the United States.

“I believe if you work your butt off and pay taxes, you should be able to easily understand and navigate the laws, tax codes, health care and anything else the government puts in place that affects us all,” Kid Rock said. The image with the quote is emblazoned with his logo proclaiming “Kid Rock ’18 For U.S. Senate.”

The Michigan native is reportedly hoping to take over the Senate seat currently held by Democrat Debbie Stabenow.

Last week Kid confirmed that the website KidRockForSenate.com was absolutely real and told fans that they should stay tuned because he had a “major announcement in the near future.”

In a July 13 post on his website titled “Once Again The Press Is Wrong,” Kid pointed out that he had 15 days from the date of his announcement to file paperwork with the Federals Election Commission. He also said that he planned to issue music during his campaign, starting with the release of the songs “Greatest Show On Earth” and “Po-Dunk.”

His campaign website features a photo of him posing with a taxidermy deer and a link to purchase “Kid Rock For U.S. Senate” T-shirts, hats and bumper stickers.

Underneath text asking “Are You Scared?” there’s a flashing image cycling between the following slogans: Pimp Of The Nation, Born Free, Party To The People, Welcome To the Party, I’ll Rock The Party, You Never Met a Politician Quite Like Me, Get In The Senate And Try To Help Someone, In Rock We Trust.
