The new LP, Carry Fire, will be available Oct. 13.
His headline dates will start in Plymouth, England on Nov. 16 and run for more than a month, ending just under a month later in Birmingham, England on Dec. 12. Other cities on the routing include Dublin; Manchester, England; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Glasgow, Scotland; and, of course, London.
Tickets for the run go on sale to the general public Aug. 25.
Plant played plenty of dates with The Sensational Space Shifters last year, with most of the shows filling approximately 2,000-cap rooms. The shows weren’t particularly high-grossing, but all the ones we have records for were sold out, and at this stage in his career, Plant likely just wants to play his music.
“It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new,” he said of Carry Fire in a press release. “Consequently the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”
As far as that new album goes, it will once again feature The Sensational Space Shifters and is available for pre-order now. Check out the new track “The May Queen.”
