Kinky Rave Fest Raises Concerns In UK

The self-described “Kinky Rave Festival” Flamefest has sparked some outrage by the residents of Tunbridge Wells, England, where it is to taking place this weekend.

Locals voiced concerns “over noise, parking and decency – and claim they had not be consulted about the event,” according to KentLive.

The report quotes local councilor Dianne Hill, who said she had received “a lot“ of complaints about the event, which expected 500 attendees and promises an “outdoor sex dungeon,” hot tubs and more.

“I’m no prude but this is the wrong place for this sort of thing,” she told the news site. “It’s a residential area. A big worry is they say there will be coaches coming down – where are they going to park? People are obviously going to be concerned about the noise.”

She added that “residents had not been aware the event was taking place because it was being held on a temporary license.”

The musical lineup includes Marten Horger, Plump DJs, A Guy Called Gerald and more. The festival site features an adult play area, where festivalgoers can “explore kinks within the safe and secure confines of our decorated marquee. You will be in the safe hands of our dominatrixes and monitors, where you can play within the boundaries of our common-sense rules,” according to the festival website.

Event manager Helen Smedley told KentLive that the event is private and no sex happens in public view. “People go off to their tents to meet like minded people,” she said.
