The Damned Awaken UK ‘Spirits’

The Damned is ready to record a new album, the group has tour dates planned in the UK and a former bassist is back in the lineup.

The “Evil Spirits” dates are in January and February, starting at the O2 Academy in Newcastle, England, on Jan. 26. O2 venues throughout the country are all over the routing, which closes Feb. 17 at O2 Forum Kentish Town in London.

Tickets to that tour are on sale now.

Bassist Stu West has left the group, so he is being relieved by another former bassist, Paul Gray.  The full lineup is now Gray, Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Monty Oxymoron and Andrew “Pinch” Pinching.

The new album will be recorded in October with longtime David Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti on production.

The Damned toured Australia and North America this year and did good business, moving 86 percent of tickets available in major-market theatres. The group is averaging 907 tickets per show in 2017.
