Rodrigo y Gabriela Book Fall Tour
Gabriela Quintero, best known as one half of Rodrigo y Gabriela, took a break from working on the duo’s new studio album to post a video announcing a U.S. fall tour.
As for Rodrigo Sanchez, Quintero said he was “in another planet,” immersed in the new music.

The November excursion continues the duo’s 10th Anniversary Tour celebrating their self-titled second studio album. The LP was appropriately first released in Ireland, where the Mexican guitarists first made a name for themselves. The album, which includes Rodrigo y Gabriela’s take on Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” and Metallica’s “Orion,” was certified platinum in the country.
Pollstar talked to Sanchez and the duo’s manager, Niall Muckian, in 2007 for a cover story on the duo.
“They made an immediate impression on me when I saw them,” Muckian told Pollstar. “Watching them effortlessly cross so many different musical styles from jazz, metal to folk with a big beat sound, I knew immediately that I wanted to be involved,” said Muckian.
Rodrigo y Gabriela’s latest album is 2014’s 9 Dead Alive.
Following dates in South America in October, the U.S. outing kicks off Nov. 2 at Higher Ground in South Burlington, Vt.
Cities on the schedule include Providence, R.I.; Pittsburgh; Charleston, S.C.; and Jacksonville, Fla.
A presale is ongoing now. Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 15.
