The
Erika Goldring for MCA – George Strait
Gruene Hall, New Braunfels, TX
The first “10 for 10” gig will be a “Strait Down Route 66” show from Strait on June 2. Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 29.
The announcement came from BOK Center’s GM Jeff Nickler at a press conference yesterday. Nine more shows to celebrate the occasion will be announced in the coming six months.
The 19,199-capacity venue was officially opened in August of 2008 in a ceremony that involved Garth Brooks and Hanson. The venue is currently averaging more than $500,000 grossed per show.
Strait is technically still retired from touring, but he recently put on a benefit concert that raised millions for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
