Noblesville Shed Gets New Name
Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, Ind., has been renamed
Financial details and length of the multiyear agreement were not disclosed, but Live Nation confirmed with Pollstar that the deal is longer than the last with Klipsch.
The previous five-year deal between Klipsch, a speaker manufacturing company, and venue operator Live Nation expired October 2016, but Klipsch agreed to let the amphitheater use the name for one more season to avoid the hassle of securing a one-year sponsor, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.
The shed had several names since it opened in 1989 starting with Deer Creek Music Center and, from 2001 to 2011, Verizon Wireless Music Center. The 25,000-capacity facility, which averaged 21,668 tickets sold this past season, wrapped 2017 with a show from Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows Sept. 24.
The 25,000-capacity shed, previously known as Deer Creek Music Center and Verizon Wireless Music Center, is averaging 21,668 tickets moved per show in the last 12 months. Locals on social media expressed the usual frustration of switching from one awkward name to another and urged for the impossible return of Deer Creek as the moniker.
