Was ‘Life Is Beautiful’ Targeted As Well?
The man accused of killing at least 59 and injuring more than 550 may have considered committing a similar attack at a previous festival held in Las Vegas, Life Is Beautiful.

An advert for The Ogden hotel boasts its overview of the main stage of Life Is Beautiful, which took place in Las Vegas Sept. 22-24.
Law enforcement officials are looking into the possibility that the gunman tried to get a hotel room overlooking the blocks-long event that took place elsewhere downtown, a law enforcement source who was briefed on the investigation told CBS News.
Stephen Paddock, who opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest festival Oct. 1 during Jason Aldean’s set, apparently tried to book rooms at The Ogden, a luxury tower, but the hotel was at occupancy. He also requested suites at another unidentified hotel but with the same result, the source told CBS.
The Ogden is next to where Life Is Beautiful placed its mainstage, and the hotel mentioned its prime location in a Las Vegas Review-Journal advertisement. Even though the festival took over 15 blocks of downtown Las Vegas, the U.K.’s Daily Mail noted that, if Paddock could fire the same distance of 300 yards as he did Oct. 1, his bullets could have still reached the main stage area from the furthest overlooking hotel.
Life Is Beautiful featured Muse, Lorde, Blink-182, Chance The Rapper, and Gorillaz, among others, Sept. 22-24.
