The money is a pittance compared to $7 million gross Coldplay is averaging per show according to our 16 reports for the band from 2017.

Still, the symbolic finger wagging and demand to keep the show within the allotted time frame was enough to keep Ed Sheeran from booking a Bay Area stop in 2018.

Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor said the city should consider different approaches to enforcing the curfew, including a possible increase in the fine, according to The Mercury News.

The show reportedly started at 7 p.m. with two opening acts playing and Coldplay taking the stage just before 9 p.m.

The dispute is one of several between the city and the anchor tenant.
