We know that demand for “Springsteen on Broadway” was high, but apparently it was enough to add more shows, as the star’s run at New York’s Walter Kerr Theatre has been lengthened.

There will again be a lottery for fans who registered through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system, and press from the Springsteen camp said “due to overwhelming participation” in the original onsale, there will not be an additional registration period. That means that the upcoming lottery will draw from the pool of registered fans who weren’t lucky enough to get a code in in the initial onsale.

We don’t have exact dates for the new shows yet, but we know that the show will run from Feb. 28 until June 30. It is booked Tuesdays through Saturdays at the theatre starting Dec. 5.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band led Pollstar’s Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours last year, so when Bruce decides to put himself in a venue for the better part of year, it’s a big deal. The show opened in October and we haven’t started getting reports yet, but if the demand on the secondary market is any indication, the show is doing outstanding business.

The show is held in Walter Kerr Theatre, which caps out around 945 occupants, and sees five nights a week of Springsteen playing 15 songs in 130 minutes, with stories about his life and upbringing.
