The venue has been managed by a partnership between the city of Southaven and Green Machine Concerts since it opened in 2006.
But the Southaven Board of Alderman approved a motion to advertise a Request For Proposals for the venue during a meeting Nov. 30, according to the DeSoto Times-Tribune.
“We’ve been unable to come to an agreement with our current contractor, so today an RFP has been approved to see other proposals for that service,” Mayor Darren Musselwhite told the paper. “We couldn’t come to an agreement. Green Machine has done an incredible job for the city over the years, but we’ve not been able to come to an agreement. That’s what prompted the RFP.”
The city plans to open proposals on Dec. 15.
Formerly known as Snowden Grove Amphitheater before changing its name under a naming rights agreement in 2015, the 4,000-capacity venue hosts several artists each year. Bret Michaels, Chris Stapleton and Journey were among the acts that played at the amphitheater in 2017.
Green Machine Concerts did not comment at press time.
