Mariah Carey canceled a string of Australian tour dates in favor of a “much bigger” tour.
The pop diva announced on Instagram that five February dates were canceled and that a larger tour is in the works.
“An update for my lambs in Australia and New Zealand! I have exciting news for you. We are now planning a much bigger tour in 2018! Because of this we are moving the Australia/NZ dates a few months to October. I’ll be kicking off my tour then and look forward to seeing you all,” Carey’s Instagram post said.
The dates canceled ran from Feb. 1-10 and included stops in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Carey’s new Australian dates begin Oct. 7 in Auckland and run through Oct. 14 with the final show at Sandstone Point in Brisbane.
Carey recently canceled six dates in November because of an upper respiratory infection. The diva has seemingly had a run of bad luck when it comes to touring, as she canceled a full run in South America last year because of problems with promoters. She filed suit against those same promoters earlier this year, claiming “not one payment was promised … [was] made as required.”
The pop star still has scheduled dates Dec. 20 and 22 at The Colosseum At Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
