Pollstar Live! Panel Preview: 20/20 Vision With Lee Anderson, Sascha Guttfreund, Chase Fiedler, Tunji Balogun, Jay Moss, Henny Yegezu

Pollstar Live! will take a look at the agents, managers, talent buyers and A&Rs behind the new wave of superstars in music, with a panel discussion moderated by Paradigm’s Lee Anderson and speakers including RCA’s Tunji Balogun, Insomniac’s Chase Fiedler, ScoreMore Shows promoter Sascha Stone Guttfreund, Paradigm’s Jay Moss, and EQT Management’s Henny Yegezu.

“The name of the game in this business is have the foresight to see what is next and to get to it first,” moderator Lee Anderson, who at Paradigm represents artists including Skrillex, Zedd, and Disclosure, told Pollstar. “The speakers assembled for this panel embody that mantra to the fullest. Rather than following the blueprints of generations before them, they created their own and have used them to help usher in the next wave of superstars in this industry. 

“I cannot be more excited to hear the stories of how they got to where they are today and gain insight as to where they, and this business, will be going to in the future.”

Anderson oversees Paradigm’s hip-hop roster and individually represents artists including Gucci Mane, MadeinTYO and London On Da Track.

Anderson joined AM Only in 2008 where he became vice president, before it joined with Paradigm in 2012.

Austin-based promoter and ScoreMore Shows co-founder Sascha Stone Guttfreund says the panel is full of talented people who love what they do.

“Tunji (Balogun) to me is one of the most impressive people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with,” Guttfreund told Pollstar. “He really knows what will connect with the fans.

“And if you look at his year with Bryson (Tiller), Sza, and Khalid, very few people have made such a presence.

“Lee is obviously a visionary, and I think he’s really done some incredible things,” added Guttfreund, whose JMBLYA festival in Texas has this year increased to two stages and three cities.

“Henny is another guy I’ve known for a long time and really like,” he said of EQT Management’s Henny Yegezu.

The company’s roster includes GoldLink, Kali Uchis and Louie Lastic.

Also on the panel is Insomniac’s Chase Fiedler, who began his music industry career at ICM Talent Agency in 2011.

Less than a year later, he was hired on to Insomniac’s talent department, where he has been since 2012.

Fiedler is currently the Talent Director, West Coast for Insomniac Events, booking artists for the company’s revered festival brands, concerts and nightclubs.

Jay Moss, at Paradigm’s New York office after it partnered with the Windish Agency, books national and international tours for more than 25 artists, specializing in electronic and indie rock artists.
