The Dictators Singer Richard Manitoba Arrested For Assault

The Dictators singer Richard “Handsome Dick” Manitoba has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Zoe Hansen.

Manitoba, 64, was charged last week for choking 51-year-old Hansen, according to New York Daily News. The two have a teenage son and co-own Manitoba’s bar in New York.

Hansen told police, “He bit me, He bit my nose. He grabbed my neck and applied pressure.” According to a police report, officers found her “crying, with tears streaming down her face and her body shaking,” when they arrived at Hansen’s and Manitoba’s apartment in New York City.

Manitoba faces three counts of third-degree assault and one count each of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree harassment.

He was arraigned Feb. 2 and is expected back in court March 26.

The Dictators still occasionally play shows, but Pollstar has not received any box office reports from the punk rock group since 2003.

Manitoba’s representatives did not immediately respond to Pollstar’s requests for comment.
