Live Nation Approved For Colorado Country Music Festival
Live Nation received approval from Chaffee County Commissioners in Colorado to stage a country music festival over Labor Day weekend.
The decision was reached Feb. 21 after a public hearing that ran five hours and saw 30 people comment, The Mountain Mail reported.
The permit sought for the event to be held at the Meadows near Buena Vista, Colo., Aug. 31 – Sept. 2 has an estimated attendance of 25,000.
Live Nation’s Rocky Mountain division Sean O’Connell said that while 25,000 attendees is a long-term goal, organizers would be “ecstatic” with 15,000 the first year and that 10,000 fans is a more realistic number.
