While March screams out its signature lion-like roar, the Madness happens across the country in cities like Dayton, Wichita, Charlotte and Boston as NCAA teams compete to make it to the Final Four at the Alamodome in San Antonio March 31 and April 2.

The festival’s three days are tagged as individual events with March 30 branded as the “AT&T Block Party,” March 31 called “Coca-Cola Music” and April 1 christened “Capital One JamFest.”

Although no acts have been announced for the AT&T Block Party, Coca-Cola Music will host Imagine Dragons and Capital One JamFest will welcome Maroon 5.

Expect more acts to be announced.  Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, The Chainsmokers, Kenny Chesney, Rihanna and Kings Of Leon are among the acts that have graced past March Madness Music Festival lineups.

Perhaps the best part of the festival is that admission is free and entry is achieved on a first-come / first-served basis.  While closing time is 10 p.m. on all nights, the festival’s gates open at 4 p.m. March 30; 2 p.m. March 31 and 3 p.m. April 1.

And be sure to wear your most comfortable shoes.  The festival’s FAQ clearly states, “No public parking is available around Hemisfair” for the event and “Attendees should plan to park in downtown lots or garages.”  However, there will be public transportation opportunities, including three Park & Ride locations where $2.50 buys you a one-way ticket to Hemisfair Park.

Oh, and leave your remote-controlled aircraft at home.  According to the FAQ, “no drones of any kind” will be allowed.
