‘Get Tickets’: Eventbrite & Instagram Partner To Allow In-App Ticket Purchases

Instagram business account users selling tickets through Eventbrite can now add a “Get Tickets” button to their profile.
Eventbrite claims that “more than 200 million daily active Instagrammers visit a brand profile each day,” making the photo app a powerful discovery platform.
Some 25 million Instagram user are maintaining a business account, which includes private entrepreneurs, professionals and brands. The Eventbrite integration is available worldwide, given that 80 percent of Instagram users come from outside the U.S.
The markets Instagram operates in include Europe, Australia, Brazil, Canada and New Zealand. Eventbrite promises creators that this partnership is going to help them grow existing audiences and reach new ones.
“With more than 800 million active monthly users, Instagram connects live events and experiences to an audience of discoverers at scale,” the announcement reads.
Business account holders can direct customers that clicked on “Get Tickets” to their Eventbrite profile page, where all of their events are listed, or to a specific event listing URL.
Sellers automatically get hold of the buyer’s name and email from their Instagram profile upon checkout, and they can track ticket sales from Instagram on their Eventbrite Event Dashboard. Knowing where one’s fans and customers are, enables the seller to make better business decisions.
The partnership marks an extension of the existing partnership between Eventbrite and Instagram parent company Facebook.
Eventbrite says the Facebook integration led to twice the amount of ticket sales and free registrations than events that redirect potential customers away from Facebook and onto a third-party ticketing site.
Eventbrite’s distribution partners also include Spotify, Songkick, Google, Bandsintown and UK event guide The List.
“We sold millions of tickets through our distribution partners in 2017 alone and are excited to connect a growing trend of visual discovery to the highly lucrative ‘Experience Economy’,“ a company statement reads. Eventbrite’s own research suggests that three in four Millennials prefer spending money on experiences over things.
“When combined with the 30 percent of people who purchased something they first saw on Instagram, event creators now have a fantastic way to reach new audiences and sell more tickets,” the statement continues.
