Jake Leighton-Pope Reportedly Leaves CAA London, Returns To Management
– Jake Leighton-Pope
Jake Leighton-Pope is reportedly leaving CAA in London to launch his own management company.
Leighton-Pope told IQ Magazine, that he “loved being an agent – I did it for ten years and had a great time – but I’m in my 40s now, and it was time for a change.”
Hence, Leighton-Pope, who joined CAA in 2008, where his roster included Will Young, Cherry Glazerr and Little Dragon, decided to return to the management field, which is where he started his career some 20 years ago.
As manager, he used to work with Paul Oakenfold, Lemon Jelly and others. Prior to joining CAA, he worked at Bravado Merchandise, being responsible for the Spice Girls reunion tour merchandise among other things.
Commenting on his time at CAA, Leighton-Pope said: “It was as good [an experience] as someone leaving a company after ten years could be. I love them and they love me. I’m leaving with a heavy heart.”
Emma Banks, who co-heads CAA in London, told Pollstar: “All good things come to an end! Jake was a much loved colleague at CAA thoughout his tenure with us and we wish him all the very best with his new venture. We hope to be working with Jake again very soon in his capacity as an artist manager!”
While details on his new management endeavor are scarce, he told IQ that his first act would be Anna Straker from London, co-managed with James Barnes of London-based management company The Forty Four.
Update: Emma Banks’ quote was added to the original article later.
