CTS Eventim Acquires Venuepoint
Germany-based ticketing giant CTS Eventim has acquired all remaining shares in Scandinavian company Venuepoint from its former joint partner, Nordisk Film.
CTS Eventim becomes sole owner of the leading ticketing provider in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Alexander Ruoff, COO of CTS Eventim, stated that “The Scandinavian countries are particularly attractive to us not only because of their spending power but also because of their strong digital affinity. Therefore, we are very much looking forward to actively contributing to Venuepoint’s further growth over the long term. At the same time, I sincerely thank our former co-owners at Nordisk Film for our trustful collaboration and all the progress we have achieved over the past two years.”
Asger Flygare Bech-Thomsen, CEO of Nordisk Film Cinemas, stated that “We have had an excellent partnership with CTS Eventim, implementing new state-of-the-art ticketing services and growing the business in our home markets. With a strong growth strategy in place, CTS Eventim– being the best possible sole owners – will now take Venuepoint to the next level.”
CTS Eventim says that in 2017, more than 250 million tickets were marketed using the company’s systems – through stationary box offices, online or mobile. Its online portals operate under brands such as eventim.de, oeticket.com, ticketcorner.ch, ticketone.it and entradas.com.
The Eventim Group also includes many concert, tour and festival promoter companies for events like Germany’s Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Hurricane and Southside festivals. The company also operates venues including Lanxess Arena in Cologne, the Waldbühne in Berlin and the Eventim Apollo in London.
