The Weeknd Coming To Asia

The Weeknd announced his first major Asia tour of arenas and stadiums, with a tweet saying, “Asia, I’m finally coming”
The dates are Nov. 30, Hong Kong, Dec. 2, Bangkok, Dec. 5, Singapore, Dec. 7, Manila, Dec. 9, Bali, Dec. 12, Taipei, Dec. 15, Seoul and Dec. 18, Tokyo. The tour will be produced by Live Nation.
So far, the only venue that’s been announced is for Tokyo.
Local promoter H.I.P. released a poster at 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 saying The Weeknd show would be at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center east of Tokyo in Chiba City.
The Weeknd has been on major festival slots this year including headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago, but also played Australia at the very end of 2017, with reports submitted to Pollstar including Perth Arena Dec. 14, which sold 10,737 tickets and grossed $942,539, and two shows at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Dec. 8-9, which sold out 26,539 tickets and grossed $2.52 million, along with another two at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Dec. 2-3, which grossed more than $3 million.
The WME client established himself as an arena headlining touring force in 2017 ending the year at No. 16 on Pollstar’s Top 100 Worldwide tours chart and grossing $80 million on 76 shows.
