CTS Eventim Appoints Former AXS Marketing VP Daniel Brown UK CEO
CTS Eventim – Daniel Brown
CTS Eventim’s new CEO in the UK
Daniel Brown, previously with AEG, has joined CTS Eventim as CEO of its UK subsidiary Eventim UK, while Nick Blackburn remains chairman and Dale Ballentine is promoted to COO.
Brown held management positions at AEG for the past six year, including CRM director AEG Europe and, since Aug. 2014, vice president marketing and digital service at AXS.
He began his career in the automotive industry, where he held managerial responsibilities for digital and CRM businesses. At Eventim UK, he replaces Simon Presswell, who left the company in 2016.
“I’m thankful to CTS Eventim’s management board for their confidence in me and I’m looking forward to playing my role in shaping the growth story of a global player in my home market,” said Brown.
He continued: “With my new colleagues, I want to help build on Eventim UK’s reputation as a reliable and innovative partner for venues, promoters and fans – one that knows how to exploit the potential presented by digitisation in the interest of our various customers.”
Eventim UK also promoted Dale Ballentine from director of development to COO. Nick Blackburn, who remains chairman, commented: “I welcome Daniel Brown to Eventim UK. He brings valuable industry experience to his role as CEO. At the same time, I’m happy that Dale Ballentine has accepted his promotion to COO. Over the past two years he has significantly contributed to Eventim UK’s strategic progress and our business success.
“Together with our Finance Director James O’Mullan we now have a strong team in place to handle what I’m convinced will be a phase of growth for Eventim UK.”
CTS Eventim’s recent successes in the UK include an exclusive ticketing partnership with the show production ‘Mamma Mia! The Party!’, and a long-term ticketing agreement with live music and venues company VMS Live.
Since then, VMS Live announced the acquisition of two new venues in Hull, England – The Welly and The Polar Bear – as well as Hull Box Office, which sells in excess of 80,000 tickets a year.
Last month, CTS Eventim secured the naming rights to the Liverpool Olympia, which will be known as the Eventim Olympia going forward. The German live entertainment giant will also be the exclusive ticketing system provider to the historic venue.
Right at the beginning of this year, CTS Eventim launched its fan-to-fan resale platform in the UK.
