Speakers Announced For Pollstar Live! 2019 ‘International Festivals’ Panel
– Pollstar Live! 2019
The schedule for Pollstar Live! 2019 is coming together with speakers confirmed today for “International Festivals: Juicing Up A Mature Marketplace,” a panel to be held in association with Midem.
Festivals have defined summer live music in the U.K. and Europe for decades, and well-established festivals have increasingly become mainstays of the live scene across South America, the Pacific Rim, and beyond. Experienced festival producers and promoters will discuss how the strategies around creative booking, infrastructure improvements, branding, sponsorships and marketing keep established festivals profitable and relevant, as well as music fans engaged.
Speakers on the panel include Thomas Dürr of ACT Entertainment, Stuart Galbraith of Kilimanjaro Live!, Leca Guimarães of C3 Presents, Jan Quiel of Wacken Open Air/Seaside Touring, and Beatrice Stirnimann of Baloise Session.
The 30th anniversary of Pollstar Live! will take place Feb. 11-13 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
As previously announced, Pollstar and Midem are continuing the companies’ branding, marketing and content partnership for Pollstar Live! and Midem 2019 that was launched earlier this year, bringing cross-promoted, expertly-curated panels, keynotes, conversations and speakers tailored to the live sector of the music industry to both conferences.
After Pollstar teamed with Midem in June for the inaugural Midem Live Summit in Cannes, France, Pollstar Live! will host the “International Festivals: Juicing Up A Mature Marketplace” panel, marking the debut of the conference’s International Track in association with Midem.
Pollstar Live!, the world’s largest gathering for the live entertainment industry, is Pollstar’s flagship event. Both were acquired by Oak View Group in 2017. The event includes the Pollstar Live! Conference & Awards and Production Live!
In addition to varied keynotes, case studies and Q&As, Pollstar Live 2019! will host an array of panels filled with the live music industry’s most influential and visionary promoters, producers, agents, managers, entrepreneurs and venue operators, as well as leaders in other sectors aligned with and impacting the touring business.
Additionally, Production Live! on Feb. 11 will take on the production side of the industry, with topics on sound, lights, staging, transportation, video, tech, and venue operations, delivered from tour managers, production managers, lighting directors, stage managers, and other touring professionals.
Registration for Pollstar Live! 2019 is open now at www.Pollstar.Live. Register by Nov. 30 to take advantage of Tier 2 pricing.
Midem, the long-running home of the global music community, is scheduled June 4-7 and will bring together artists, agents, labels, publishers, tech, festivals and managers for four days of lively debates, business, networking and concerts. The second edition of the Midem Live Summit, in association with Pollstar, will take place June 6 in Cannes and will again feature an exciting array of live industry players.
